Possibly the finest matched gunning pair of humpbacked, beaver tailed pintails to ever come out of Crisfield in the last 100 yrs. This wonderful original paint circa 1918-1920 decoys, project the utmost in American folk art. The paint is bone dry with all the right signs of wear and rubs and paint loss ,that you would expect in a pair of decoys that were used many times over there long years of service. Ward decoys of this caliber have sold at auction and privatley for hundreds of thousands of dollars. This pair stands side by side with them. They are the pride of my collection and I thought you would enjoy looking at them.

Charlie "Speed" Joiner- Chestertown,Maryland

Nicely done pair of 1960's canvasbacks by Charlie "Speed" Joiner.Near mint original paint & condition,Charlie did not date these birds on the bottom because he used this same pattern for over 20 yrs. and said it is impossible to tell for sure what year they were made. This pair has that nice mellow patina that comes with years of paint aging.

William Cramner, Beach Haven , New Jersey: Signed and dated pair of Bluebills, hen has turned head which is resting on her back.Altough the birds make a wonderful pair they are dated at different times, the hen , 1981 & the drake 1979. There are some old areas of sap bleeding on the tail of the drake, and the underside of the tail and breast of the hen, these have a coat of clear varnish over them to stop the sap. Done at the time the decoys were painted.
